3The moon improves the family's constitution

―What is your relationship with nutrition?

I was interested in Kampo medicine, and at first I thought that Kampo medicine could cure mental symptoms such as menopause and sluggishness.
Dr. Wang Cuiyun, who is a master of Kampo medicine and whom I respect, said, "If you take Kampo medicine alone, you won't get better. If you don't eat properly, it won't work."10About a year ago, I entered food school.
At that time, my daughter had acne, my son had a high uric acid level, and I was diagnosed with atypical cells during a uterine cancer screening. I tried to eat as the meeting said.
The staple food is only brown rice, with as little animal products as possible.I stopped dairy products completely.
After working together as a family, my dysmorphic cells disappeared completely in three months, and everyone became healthy.I was really surprised.I realized that my body changed in XNUMX months.

Approaching dementia from food

―You said that the nutrition class is a psychiatric short-stay care program. Why did you start it?

At psychiatric clinics, clinical psychologists usually provide counseling and psychiatrists provide care.
My mind and body are connected, so I wanted to approach not only counseling but also my body.
Since I specialize in dementia, dementia is a disease that occurs when the brain, an internal organ, degenerates.
In order to do that, I started a nutrition class because I thought that patients would not believe that they had changed since I practiced nutrition unless they experienced it themselves.

Focusing on research on the brain-gut relationship

―Are there any dietary tendencies that are characteristic of people who visit psychiatrists?

I like sweets.People who go to psychiatric clinics are more or less likely to feel stressed, or they are really stressed. I think it's a quick way to feel happy soon.
Eating sweets doesn't make you want to eat vegetables that much.

―Will these people actually change their brains by changing their diet?

In the food nutrition class, everyone will definitely be healthy. It's like when you feel better, you become more active, and as a result, you're cured of depression.
However, research by Dr. Yuji Naito of Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine has scientifically revealed the "brain-gut correlation" that the brain and intestines are related, and I thought this was it.
According to Dr. Naito's thesis, when you eat a lot of water-soluble dietary fiber, the so-called good bacteria increase and break down into acetic acid, butyric acid, and propionic acid. I thought it was sending a signal to my brain.
Therefore, with the tremendous cooperation of Dr. Naito, we10People and patients with anxiety disorders10With the patient's consent, we will conduct research on how the human intestinal flora (bacterial flora) changes with diet.2018I started doing it in April.
Increasing soluble fiber and decreasing animal protein and fat are gradually showing results in how patients' bowel changes after XNUMX months.

The number of good bacteria is increasing and the number of certificates is decreasing

―What are the results so far?

People with schizophrenia, for example, have persecutory delusions, slight auditory hallucinations, relational delusions (delusions that relate the conversations and actions of people around them that are unrelated to them), and are unable to move. I have psychiatric symptoms.
The data is currently being analyzed, but my impression is that these mental symptoms have decreased and their frequency has decreased.People who were crazy enough to cry all the time stopped crying, or the frequency of depressive episodes (symptoms) decreased.
As a result of this research, I thought that bad bacteria may also be doing something good for mental health.
Then, when I was wondering what to do, the only thing I could do was increase the number of good bacteria. After XNUMX months, most people had very good bacteria.
good bacteria12%30%, or people who were XNUMX%13In some cases, it even increased to XNUMX%.
By increasing water-soluble dietary fiber and slightly reducing animal fat and protein, good bacteria will increase and your mental state will improve a little. No change in bad bacteria.I understand so far.
Therefore, it is still a mystery what kind of food is good for mental health.
However, if you eat brown rice, your bowel movements will improve, and although it may not be water-soluble, it does contain dietary fiber.
