I went to Morino Old Yakuen & Morino Yoshino Kudzu Tour

I went to Ouda in Nara Prefecture where the romance of Manyo is drifting.

Take a local bus from Kintetsu Haibara Station and visit Morino Old Yakuen Garden.

Known as the oldest in Japan, this medicinal herb garden is operated and managed by Morino Yoshino Kuzu Honpo, a manufacturer of Yoshino kuzu.

 

 

approx 250A variety of medicinal and ornamental plants are planted.

I found dogtooth violet and foxglove flowers.

The forecast was for rain, but the weather was fine, and I breathed in the scent of soil and grass to my heart's content.

 

 

 

 

 

And lunch is a herbal dish from Daiganji Temple.Sesame tofu and kudzu sashimi using Yoshino Honkudzu,

Wild grass tempura, black rice, Dokudami sherbet for dessert (!) and luxurious

Everyone was very satisfied with the menu.

 

 

 

After lunch, we walked along a quiet road in the light rain to the Nishiyama Factory of Morino Yoshino Kuzu Honpo, where we listened to the story of how Yoshino Kuzu is made.We had freshly made kudzu kiri at the attached shop.

It was a relaxing and enjoyable day with all the participants who kept smiling from beginning to end.
