Mountain Gods and Buddhas Yoshino, Kumano, Koya

Friday, May 5rd.I went to the special exhibition "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range - 23th Anniversary of World Heritage Registration - Mountain Gods and Buddhas Yoshino, Kumano and Koya" held at the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. The pamphlet said, "About 10 images of 'Gods and Buddhas' that gather deep faith will be exhibited in one place, centering on the three sacred sites of Yoshino/Omine, Kumano Sanzan, and Koyasan." I received the admission ticket from Mr. Hakuryu Tatsumi, who graduated from Seishoku Cooking School this spring.Ms. Tatsumi is the wife of the chief priest of a temple called Sakuramotobo, who took a lunch break and toured the cherry blossoms in Yoshino with Principal Okada and the lecturers in April last year.If I remember correctly, he said, "Our principal image is also on display."From the subway "Dobutsuen-mae", I passed through Janjan Yokocho in Shinsekai, and there was an art museum in Tennoji Park. When you enter the venue, the sunny and dazzling world turns into a dim space. The indirect lighting made many Buddha statues stand out, and I instantly slipped back in time to ancient times. There are nearly 4 exhibits provided by Mr. Sakuramoto, and I was able to meet the principal image "Engyosha seated statue".Come to think of it, I saw it in Yoshino last year...As I was taking notes, the attendant brought me a pencil saying, "I don't want the ink to fly out."Great care has been taken with the exhibits. The oldest one on display is from the 10th century. Heading towards the light, we returned from another world to reality.I took a short walk in Tennoji Park. The pond was sparkling.I climbed Mt. Chausu, whose name I often heard.Only the birds chirping and the wind rustling the leaves can be heard. It's amazing how quiet you can't believe you're in the middle of the big city of Osaka, where you can see Harukas nearby.
I think it may have been because it was a weekday, but no one was there.I had the luxury of enjoying a quiet stroll. (Terry)
